DWGP Law Firm headquartered in Washington, DC with a satellite office in California is seeking a Firm Administrator. The position reports directly to the Shareholders of the Firm. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in accounting, benefits administration, human resources and operations, and enjoy a position where every day is different. The position encompasses a wide range of activities with involvement in all phases of the administration, personnel, finances, facilities, and business systems, including:

  • Performing, facilitating, or delegating the accounting functions, including billing, receipts, accounts payable, payroll, financial management reports, preparation of annual budget and working with the firm’s outside CPA to produce the annual financial statements

  • Benefits management and administration

  • Human resources, including the onboarding of attorneys, management of all non-attorney staff (recruitment, onboarding, professional development, retention, employee relations, offboarding), and ensuring HR policies are implemented and comply with local statutory requirements; the firm currently has a support staff of 8 individuals

  • Management of the day-to-day operations of the office, including IT, vendor relationships, facilities and equipment, including identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve operational efficiencies

  • Working directly with the Shareholders to identify and accomplish short-term and long-term organizational goals

Experience, skills and qualifications should include:

  • Advanced understanding of accounting procedures, information systems, including HRIS

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Solution oriented

  • Project management

  • Technically savvy and comfortable on different platforms (Centerbase, NetDocuments experience a plus)

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or related field (not required if candidate has significant law firm administration experience)

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in small to medium-size law firm administration
