2027 Summer Associate

About the Firm

Since its founding in 1971, Duncan, Weinberg, Genzer & Pembroke, P.C., (DWGP) has provided a broad range of consulting, regulatory, litigation and legislative services to energy and utility clients in every region of the country; producing innovative solutions and practical recommendations.  The Firm has attained a prominent and highly regarded position in these practice areas by developing innovative approaches and achieving precedent-setting results for its clients and seeks to attract like-minded attorneys to help the firm to continue to provide the same level of service with an eye to emerging technologies and future needs of our clients.

About the Role

DWGP seeks applications for summer associate positions from 2L (day) or 3L (evening) students for summer employment in our Washington, D.C. or Sacramento office.  Summer associates at DWGP can expect to perform research; draft client memoranda; draft pleadings; and support attorneys at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other forums involving energy law as well as on transactional matters.  The small firm environment at DWGP allows summer associates to perform tasks substantially similar to those of a first year associate with an emphasis on client interaction, participation in our “DWGP Summer Series”, networking, and professional development.

Successful candidates will have a demonstrated interest in administrative law, energy law (including regulatory, renewable energy, project development), or tribal law.  DWGP seeks motivated students with law review or moot court participation who maintain a minimum of a 3.3 GPA and/or are in the top quarter of their class.  DWGP offers a competitive salary, and considers the summer associate program its most important avenue for hiring associate attorneys to the extent needed.

DWGP is a proud equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment and welcomes applications from individuals of all backgrounds. We provide equal opportunity to employees and applicants without regard to race, color, age, sex, national origin, disability, religion, marital status, personal appearance, political affiliation, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, family responsibilities, or any other characteristic protected by law.
