DWGP accepts applications for summer associate positions from 2L (day) or 3L (evening) students for summer employment in both our Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, CA offices. Summer associates at DWGP perform research, draft client memoranda, draft pleadings, support attorneys at FERC, in court and at settlement conferences and participate in telephonic and in-person client conferences. The small firm environment at DWGP allows summer associates to perform tasks substantially similar to those of a first year associate.Successful candidates will have a demonstrated interest in administrative law, energy law or environmental law. DWGP seeks motivated students with law review or moot court participation who maintain a minimum of a 3.3 GPA and/or are in the top quarter of their class. Duncan, Weinberg, Genzer & Pembroke, P.C. has an immediate opening in our Washington, D.C. office for an associate with 2 - 3 years of transactional, litigation, regulatory or other noteworthy experience in the electric utility and/or natural gas industries, with preference given to familiarity with municipal utilities, rural electric cooperatives, and/or state utility commissions.The candidate must be a motivated self-starter with strong academic credentials, as well as have excellent research, writing and oral communication skills. The candidate must be a creative thinker that is eager to dive-in, learn and tackle new complex matters/issues.
