On December 16, 2015, the Navajo Nation through its utility the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority signed an agreement to sell energy and environmental attributes to the Salt River Project, a municipal utility located in Phoenix, Arizona. This unique agreement designed in coordination between SRP and NTUA will promote the construction of the Navajo Nation's first utility scale solar facility to be located within the Kayenta Chapter of the Navajo Nation. DWGP represents NTUA in the development of the energy and environmental attribute agreement and energy development matters on and off the Navajo Nation. The subject agreement is all the more unique in that it complies with US EPA requirements under the Clean Power Plan in advance of any state implementation plan.
