Keith Gordon’s practice focuses on Green and Sustainable Development, Renewable Energy Projects, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Due Diligence for Buyers, Sellers, and Lenders. He also has substantial commercial real estate development, corporate and transactional experience. Below is a sampling of his recent achievements:
- Completed Project due diligence for renewable energy project portfolio (16MW) acquisition, ongoing operations and asset management for European based investment fund with over seven billion dollars in US-based holdings.
- Provided legal representation for projects in Tennessee, U.S.A. and Puerto Princessa, Philippines, constructed pursuant to grants from the German Energy Agency.
- Performed due diligence for project acquisitions for global developer of photovoltaic (PV) projects and real estate projects to be held by passive insurance funds; $200 million committed for 2020; closing on portfolio of 36 projects in January 2021.
- Provided legal representation for the acquisition, finance, construction and eventual sale to Duke Energy of the AstroSol Tech Park AZ project at the University of Arizona Science and Technology Park (UASTP) in Tucson, AZ.
- Drafted leases and purchase agreements, procured and negotiated easements and licenses, reviewed title commitments, procured American Land Title Association (ALTA) endorsement and all other real estate related items for a US-based developer for 51 sites in 2020-2021.
Mr. Gordon began his career in commercial real estate, real estate management, and franchising.
Mr. Gordon currently serves as both a Board Member and General Counsel for TenneSEIA, whose mission is “to promote the development of solar energy and complementary technologies, including storage, positioning the Tennessee Valley’s residents and businesses as leaders in clean energy deployment and economic development”. He is also a Board Member of the Sustainability Commission for the City of Franklin, TN.
Mr. Gordon received the Drinker-Biddle First Chair General Counsel Award for his work for a renewable energy client where he serves as General Counsel. Along with being a licensed attorney, Mr. Gordon has the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification, offered through the US Green Building Council. Currently, there are less than eight hundred attorneys in the nation with this certification.
