On Friday, November 5, a critical step was taken in order for the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority’s (“NTUA”) Red Mesa Tapaha Solar Farm to move forward. A Navajo medicine man conducted a traditional blessing ceremony, acknowledging the disturbance of the earth and promoting harmony as the project breaks ground and begins construction.
The Red Mesa Tapaha Solar Farm will produce 70 MW of clean energy and will serve sixteen communities across Utah and three Chapters of the Navajo Nation. It will create jobs and generate tax revenue for the Navajo tribal government. The operation date of the project is planned for late 2022.
DWGP attorneys assist NTUA in the project development work for the Red Mesa Tapaha Solar Farm and were privileged to attend the blessing.
