The U.S. Senate has confirmed three nominees of the White House to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (“FERC”). The confirmations bring FERC to a full panel, with three Democratic Commissioners and two Republican Commissioners. The newly confirmed FERC Commissioners are: Judy Chang (D), of Boston-based Analysis Group and former Massachusetts undersecretary of energy and climate; Lindsay See (R), solicitor general for West Virginia; and David Rosner (D), a FERC staffer who had been assigned to the Democratic Staff of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. Each Commissioner’s terms run through different periods, with Rosner’s running through June 30, 2027, See’s running through June 30, 2028, and Chang’s term running through June 30, 2029. The new Commissioners will fill two open seats as well as the seat of Commissioner Allison Clements, whose term ends at the end of June.
Please refer to FERC’s announcement, where Chair Willie L. Phillips issued a statement welcoming the new Commissioners and commenting on how the Commission runs best with all five Commissioners in place.
