Last week, DWGP Attorneys Peter Kissel and Ellen Hill attended the National Hydropower Association's Waterpower Week in Washington, D.C., of which DWGP was a sponsoring organization. The in-person event was filled with informative sessions and allowed many attendees the opportunity to discuss the various benefits of clean, affordable hydropower with their peers in the industry. Some of the key topics discussed were the current effort by industry groups to improve the licensing process, including clarifying the authority of Native American Tribes, by amending the Federal Power Act, the critical role of pumped storage hydro in establishing Long Duration Electricity Storage (LDES), and the rapid progress in commercialization of marine energy resources. Peter and Ellen enjoyed connecting with firm clients and other attendees and look forward to engaging with others in different disciplines of the hydropower community.
